Time, it's standing still

As I lay here

With my eyes closed

Yet my mind wide open

My life

Such a brutal battle

Between school an family

Just staying alive

Is the hardest of all

So I take a breather

Rest my weary eyes

Lay down my heavy head

And I open up my mind

Seeing now

Such possibility

The ocean, and its breeze

The birds singing, in the trees

The water flowing throw that river

Makes me want to cry

Reminding me

Of how hard it is in life

Crash in on rocks

As my life did while fighting mom

Tumbling over a water fall

Just as my career went down the drain

Yet, I hear the birds singing

They remind me of possibility

I look at the fragile flowers by my feet

As a butterfly hovers over my bare toe

I hear my heart, it beats!

The day becomes night, quickly

I run and chase the sun set to the cliff

Just as I arrive, shooting stars of light

Brighten up the night

Streaming across the sky
